A Normal Girl is a documentary short written and produced by Shawna Lipton in collaboration with intersex activist Pidgeon Pagonis and directed by Aubree Bernier-Clarke.

The film tells the story of Pagonis's personal history and their work as an activist for social justice and bodily autonomy in order to challenge the social construction and medical enforcement of binary definitions of gender and sex.

The film premiered at the British Film Institute’s Flare Film Festival in London in March 2019. It was selected to be one of the British Council’s “Five Films for Freedom” for advancing social justice issues and LGBT rights.

A Finalist in the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase in the American Pavilion at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

Winner 23rd United Nations Association Film Festival UNAFF Grand Jury Award for Best Short Documentary
